Why do we need school?
Why do we need school?
Have you ever wondered why you need to go to school? In NZ school is compulsory to attend school between the ages 5-16. We all need to go school to learn, to get a job, to socialise.
To learn:
Why do you think it is important to learn at school? At school we learn lots of things like math, reading, writing and alot more other things. Sometimes the things you learn at school could actually make your life much easier like going to the shops and being able to read all the things you buy, also being able to use math to keep up with the price. There are alot of reasons why it is important to learn at school.
To get a Job:
Can school help you with getting a job? School can play a big part of your life. The subjects at school that you learn could help big time. Like if you wanted to become a builder you have your math that you learn at school. Also at college you can pick your subject’s from year 11-13, maybe that could help you get the job you’re looking for. Going to school can help you get a job.
Making long life friends:
Do you have friends from school? Many people have friends from school that they are still friends with till today. At school we are taught how to make friends and how to use our manners to make friends. Sometimes these friends become long life friends and stay friends for a long time.
So these are three reasons why school is important. They are to learn, to get a job, making friends.

One of my favourite highlight's was when me and the boys were just chilling on the trampoline singing before we left the camp ground's. The reason why it was one of my favourite highlight is because how we all stepped out of our comfort zone and having a special time with the friend's.

Writing - Distance Learning
The things I've learnt while staying at home in lockdown about my family culture and some more things are. Staying at home got me to do times two my chore's I do when I come back from school, another one I've learnt is that this lockdown has gotten me and my family's bond stronger and we got to know eachother better every-day. I've also learnt that we can learn online not just by going to school and learn but we can go on our device's and learn the same way we learn at school. My last one is I've learnt that we have to use all the time in school before learning like the way we are, because some people find it hard learning online so, one big think I've learnt is I need to use all the I got in school before it run's out.
Task Description: For this task I had to choose a activity to write about and I chose what is my big learning from this lockdown. Then I had to write down all the main things I've learnt during this lockdown.

Letter to the future me
Dear Future Me,
To the 21 year old Paschal
Today is April 15 2020 and right now we are in lock-down trying our hardest not to catch this Covid-19 also to stop spreading it. One of the questions I liked was the question that said did Covid-19 affect my learning and my final answer to that is no because I’m still learning online which is keeping my brain active, I am also reading books for example right now I’m reading bad guy’s also my family read the bible every single night so that keep my school learning up to date. Another one I really liked was what did I miss the most? The thing’s I miss are coming to school and playing touch before school starts, also saying sup or hi to my friend’s going up to them and doing our handshake like me and my friend’s have a really strong bond. It’s almost like we’re brother’s. The thing I worry about right now is my family catching this Carona-virus because my dad goes shopping every single day also some time with my older sister so that me and my family have food on the table and we never know who has this virus and plus we can’t even see this virus. Like for example chickenpox if you have chicken pox you would see that your face will react and have these red things on your face. Unlike Carona-virus it takes five to four-teen days for it to kick in and by then you’ve already been in contact with a lot of people so it’s pretty hard not to catch it. A lesson that I’ve learned is by staying home is a really good way to stop spreading the virus or catching the virus.
Regards 12 yr old Paschal
Task Description: For this week's task we had to write a letter to the future me, we had to write it in our own word and what we would say the the future me.

My new understanding of the 1918 pandemic is
My understanding of the 1918 pandemic was a very bad thing that happened. But these people didn't know what it was caused by nether did they have a cure to this till a really long time. Also when almost the whole country was sick a lot of the doctor’s were overseas and this is something we are all experiencing right now we are all on lockdown with a sickness going all around the world which can relate to 2020’s pandemic and 1918’s pandemic, so we all know what’s happening with them can kinda seem like what’s happening with us today.
